Lutz Project

“I found quartered sycamore, the whitest wood there is out there, and we played with it, using makore accents in certain places. The bookcase is all makore; it had to be assembled onsite because of its complexity. I think it was Leonardo DaVinci who said ‘Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.’ Our stuff has the look of simplicity, and sometimes the ones that look the simplest are the hardest to pull off. The intense attention to detail—you feel the difference. People may not be able to verbalize it, but after they live with it awhile, they do see it.”
